Principal Research Scientist at LinkedIn

Biography: Dr. Christian Posse is a Principal Scientist at LinkedIn Inc. where he leads the development of recommendation solutions, similar search functionalities and the next generation online experimentation platform. Prior to LinkedIn, Dr. Posse was a founding member and technology lead of Cisco Systems Inc. Network Collaboration Business Unit where he designed the analytics enabling Pulse, Cisco’s network-based search and collaboration platform for the enterprise. Prior to Cisco, Dr. Posse worked in a wide range of environments, from holding faculty positions in US universities, to leading the research and development in software companies and a US National Laboratory in the knowledge management, biostatistics and financial analytics fields. His interests are diverse and include predictive analytics, search and recommendation engines, social networks analytics, computational social and behavioral sciences, computational linguistics, information fusion. He has written over 40 scientific peer-reviewed publications and holds several patents in those fields. Dr. Posse has a PhD in Statistics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Switzerland.

Biography: Y. Narahari is currently Professor and Chair at the Department of Computer Science and Automation, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The focus of his current research is to apply Game Theory and Mechanism Design to problems in Internet and Network Economics, Electronic Commerce, and Social Networks. He is the lead author of a research monograph entitled “Game Theoretic Problems in Network Economics and Mechanism Design Solutions” published recently by Springer, London. He is a Fellow of IEEE and a J.C. Bose National Fellow. Some of his work has been in collaboration with research groups in GM R & D, Intel, Infosys Technologies, and Xerox Corporation. He is currently a Senior Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering.

Biography: Suresh Bhagavatula is a faculty of IIM Bangalore and works in the NS Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL). He teaches both PGP (MBA equivalent) and FPM (PhD equivalent) level courses. He completed his PhD in Entrepreneurship from Vrije University in Amsterdam. His research interests are in social network analysis, entrepreneurship in low and high technology industries and rural livelihoods. Some of his research work has been published in Journal of Business Venturing, IIM B Management Review, Business Gyan and AT Forum and presented in various national and international conferences. He has about 15 years of experience of which for about 4 years he ran his own enterprise. Prior to joining IIM B, he worked in an NGO setting up micro enterprises for rural women and in a research organization working in the area of mineral processing.
